The Puerto Plata Business Forum began this Tuesday, within the framework of a business dinner, in which a broad representation of national and international personalities from the business world, officials from government institutions and executives from business organizations participated.

The event, which takes place at the Blue JackTar facilities in Playa Dorada, is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Puerto Plata and the Free Trade Zone of this province, with the objective of promoting investment in the region.

Mileyka Brugal, president of the organizing entities, when delivering the opening speech of the event, stated that "this Business Forum seeks to be the spark that ignites interest in new investments in Puerto Plata, a province that has a diversity of investment options. businesses in different areas.

"Puerto Plata meets all the conditions to invest, in sectors as diverse as tourism, industry, free zones, agro-industries, real estate, complementary offer, among others," he said.

The activity had as international guest speaker, Gerardo González Núñez, with the presentation: "Tourism in the Caribbean, present, past and future". It also included interventions by the municipal mayor, Diomedes García, and Carlos Iglesias, president of the Dominican Federation of Chambers of Commerce (FEDOCÁMARAS).

Among the attendees, the presence of the provincial governor, Claritza Rochtte de Senior; Belkis Yermenos, Director of Trade Promotion and Investments at MIREX; Julio Gómez, from the Madrid Business Forum; Guadalupe Marroquín, commercial attaché from Guatemala, and Jaewook Yoo, commercial attaché from Korea.

The Forum contemplates for the work day of Wednesday 8, the participation of a representation of the Dominican Government as exhibitors, headed by Joel Santos, Minister of the Presidency, and José Ignacio Paliza, Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Carlos Flaquer will also be present, Vice Minister of Free Zones and Special Regimes.

The tourism incentive laws in the Dominican Republic will be presented by Román Medina Diplán, from the firm Russin, Vecchi & Heredia Bonetti.
